Who We Are

LIFE Community exists to serve individuals and whānau across Aotearoa with practical care, compassion, and dignity. Whether it’s a warm meal at one of our LIFE Community Kitchens, access to education and training, or wraparound support in times of crisis, our mission is to bring help and hope – one life at a time. We believe that together, we can reverse the cycle of poverty in Aotearoa by being the hands and feet of Jesus to whānau we meet.

Guided by our values of Mana, Ako, and Whanaungatanga, we’re mobilising our church to be the hands and feet of Jesus—serving with compassion, growing through connection, and transforming lives with love in action.

What We Do

People helping at Christmas Box by packing boxes full of food.

Christmas Box

In 2001, a simple idea of providing gift-wrapped food boxes to neighbouring families in need sparked a nationwide movement.

What started as a small initiative helping 40 families has now become one of New Zealand’s largest Christmas charity initiatives, partnering with 400+ organisations to make Christmas possible for more than 30,000 families each year, even reaching to thousands in Australia and the Cook Islands.

Community Kitchens

Our aim has always been to ensure the most vulnerable in our communities don't go hungry. LIFE Community Kitchens operates in 10 locations across Auckland, providing free hot nutritious meals to the community within a friendly whanau environment. We serve over 1,700 meals each week to those who come along to share a meal with us.

LIFE Homes

Our heartbeat is that every resident finds 'home' with us. Providing 24/7 support and care for our residents with intellectual disability, our teams work to embody an environment that mirrors both a flatting experience and family life that would not happen elsewhere.

Healthy Lunches

Healthy Lunches, as part of the Ka Ora, Ka Ako Lunch Programme, provides free nutritious meals every week day to thousands of tamariki and rangatahi across 5 Auckland schools. These lunches make a real difference to learning and ease financial pressure on families.

Education and Social Services

We believe that every person has the right to education. Retraining or learning a new skill for individuals opens up a world of opportunities for a brighter and better future. Between our two private training establishments (PTE’s), Quality Education Services and Skills Update, we have the chance to provide course options for over 800 learners every year.
