We at LIFE are passionate about connecting with and effectively impacting our local community. We are committed to reaching our neighbours with the love of Jesus through a growing number of practical initiatives.
We are also committed to impacting communities on a national scale and reaching into selected global communities through overseas missions and partnerships. We consider everywhere we touch to be part of our community and everyone to be our neighbour.
Our desire is to preach the ‘whole’ gospel of Jesus Christ by addressing both the practical & spiritual needs of individuals. We do this by first asking ourselves one very simple question, “What are the real needs of our community?”
Once we have identified the key needs of our community through a consultation process involving the community itself, we set out to help serve and address the areas in question with the resources available to us.
We do this through four primary expressions:
1. Local Initiatives
2. Community Projects
3. Events & Campaigns
4. International Partnerships
Local initiatives
Local initiatives are ‘need’ based outreaches focused on addressing real need in our local communities in a practical way on a regular basis.
Examples of several Local Initiatives:
• Prison Ministry
• Street Reach
• CAP
Community Projects
Projects are large scale annual events that consist of hundreds of volunteers coming together to impact the community. Projects are both local and national in scope.
We run the following projects:
• Community Makeover
• Pamper Night
• Christmas Box
Events & Campaigns
Events & Campaigns are made up of department specific programmes. Events are traditionally evangelical in nature with the goal of introducing people to God and to LIFE. Campaigns are cause based initiatives that you can be a part of.
Examples of Events & Campaigns:
• Knights & Princesses
• Super Soaker Sundays
• Sistas Unite
International
Our desire is not only to help people locally and nationally but internationally as well. Our aim is to assist our international partners through raising awareness, financial investment and practical help and support.
We currently partner with:
• Hagar Cambodia
• Watoto Ministries
Christmas Box 2011 Update
This year we want to pack 5000 boxes for the Auckland region and 1000 for those affected in the Canterbury earthquakes. In the past we have encouraged everyone to fundraise for Christmas Box, this year we will be doing the same thing but we have come up with an even better way by which You can get involved.
We have created a fundraising booklet for everyone to use to help raise the funds needed for this year’s project. The booklets will be a great tool to use at work, school or around the neighbourhood.
The booklets are available to pick up from the Information Desk at your Location every Sunday or at the Church offices at 95 Mt Eden Road, Grafton.
All funds raised through this event will go directly towards purchasing product for the Christmas Boxes.
For further information about Christmas Box, click on the link below.
Thanks for getting involved!
