Kirsty Erasmus - CXC Global 1. What is your business? I am the Country Manager of CXC Global Ltd, a Contractor Management Company. I like to describe our services as “a Fairy Godmother to Independent Contractors and Consultants”! We save contractors time by taking care of all their administration needs and money by ensuring they claim all their allowable tax deductions. We currently offer these services to over 100 contractors in New Zealand and over 10,000 around the globe through our network of 21 global offices. What I’m most passionate about is our consultancy service. CXC shows organisations how to reduce costs and risks that arise when engaging contractors as a vital part of their talent mix! We have software systems specifically designed for organisations to simplify the end to end process from contract to payment. 2. How long have you been in business (short time-line/work history/etc)? CXC New Zealand celebrate our 10th year anniversary in June this year and I’ve personally been with CXC since June 2008. 3. What - for you - is one benefit of having God involved? I often have to meet with rather senior procurement, finance or human resource managers. I get such butterflies in my stomach, so prior to these meetings I always say a quiet prayer before I enter the client's reception room and then I know God is right there with me and is totally in control. 4. What has been one of your big challenges and how did you respond/overcome/get past it? My biggest challenge is leading a team of 4 staff members. I have high expectations and I’ve learned that others will do what you do, not what you say, so I check my side of things first and ensure any expectations are communicated clearly. 5. What is one piece of advice you've learned along the way? Business, like life, is all about people and relationships. Hiding behind email is business suicide; whenever possible call or take your client or colleague for a $3.50 coffee, and confirm by email later in the day what was agreed. You will make friends and money this way! www.cxcglobal.co.nz
